What is Skinny Fat?

It’s a guy who is 5’10” (178cm), 175lbs (80kgs)…

But his body fat is 25%, he has little to no muscle mass, and he struggles to build muscle.

His bodyweight is “normal”, his BMI may even be normal or slightly overweight, but he has excess body fat with low muscle mass.

Many men fit this profile–including myself years ago–and they struggle to change their physiques through diet and exercise.

For Asian men, this problem can be even more difficult to solve because rice is so common and low carb dieting can feel unsustainable long-term.
